In our first edition, the unstoppable Paola Sinisterra talks about four artefacts of inspiration that influenced her journey from studying textile design to designing for Zara and then for her own label, Tangram; from cultural retail shaper to museum hands-on person to textile and fibre sleuth. Paola was recently granted the Asian Cultural Council's Hong Kong Arts Circle Fellowship. Not only is she a consummate student of traditional textiles and a sustainability advocate who’s exploring crafts beyond consumer products, she's also busy fermenting exciting cultural collaborations, tending to gardens and plants while also experimenting with ways to gather creatively.
For nearly two decades in Hong Kong, Paola has brought meaningful creative solutions to both commercial and cultural projects. She believes curiosity, cultural exchange and learning together are the ingredients for nourishing social transformation, understanding and heritage preservation.
